About CEDA events

An independent, open platform to discuss and understand economic, business and policy issues.

CEDA hosts state and national events and briefings throughout the year to contribute to the discussion on Australia's economic development.

CEDA's events provide an open platform for discussion and debate, delivering feedback to policymakers and ideas to the business community. Attending these events provides access to best practice knowledge, ideas and case studies directly from other businesses, enabling leaders and managers to make better decisions.

Lunchtime program

Our lunchtime events program is unparalleled. Australia's business and political leaders speak regularly to audiences of up to 400 over lunch in some of Australia's best venues across the country. CEDA members can sponsor events and host corporate tables.

National events

CEDA national forums focus on the theory and practice behind current issues in Australian business and policy. Recent forum topics include corporate social responsibility, innovation, advanced manufacturing, federalism, climate change, water and health. Industry and academic experts deliver their latest insights, followed by business-based case studies. Audience participation is a vital component of these events.

Boardroom briefings

CEDA members can host Trustee-only boardroom briefings on relevant business and policy issues in their company's boardroom. Speakers include business and political leaders. CEDA boardroom briefings provide a unique, personal environment for gaining new insights and expanding business and knowledge networks.

National flagship events

  • State of the Nation: CEDA hosts an annual State of the Nation conference in Canberra: an intensive day-and-a-half of briefings with government and shadow ministers, public servants, commentators and industry analysts. The State of the Nation offers an insider's view of the Federal Government's policies. Participants discuss issues directly with speakers and other attendees, and take part in regular networking opportunities.
  • Economic and Political Overview (EPO) events: CEDA's Economic and Political Overview is Australia's premier publication and series of briefings on the Australian economy and politics for the year ahead. Running for 30 years, the EPO brings together political, economic and business leaders and provides CEDA members with business intelligence on the environment they will be operating in over the next 12 months.
  • Annual Dinner: CEDA's Annual Dinner is an end-of-year celebration event that features a keynote address by a prominent leader.

Sponsorship and speaking opportunities

Sponsoring or speaking at CEDA events are unique ways to communicate with Australia's hardest-to-reach audience – leaders in business, government, academia and the broader community. It will align your brand with a leading voice for independent debate and analysis of Australian policy.
