Tony Tobin
Consultant, Gilbert + Tobin
Tony is a consultant with Gilbert + Tobin lawyers. In
January 1988, together with Danny Gilbert, he established Gilbert +
Tobin. Gilbert + Tobin has since grown from a two partner
firm, to one which now has more than 200 lawyers, and is considered
to be a leading Australian corporate, technology and communications
law firm with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Tony
retired from the partnership in June 2007.
Tony is a director of a number of companies in the public and
private sector. These include TT Line Company Pty Limited,
Asian Renewable Energy Management Limited, the management company
of a renewable energy fund, and Northcare Foundation, a non-profit
foundation which supports education and research centred on the
intensive care unit at Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney.
Tony is a director of the Committee for Economic Development of
Australia (CEDA) and is the President of its New South Wales
Advisory Council. Tony is a former chairman of BigAir Group
Limited, an ASX-listed telecommunications company.
