Martin Albrecht AC
A prominent Australian businessman experienced in Management and
Directorships of Resource, Engineering and Construction
Organisations.
Martin was Chairman of Thiess Pty Ltd (having previously been
the company's Chief Executive) and a nonexecutive Director of
Leighton Holdings Ltd over a quarter of a century. He is
currently Chairman of Exergen and most recently retired as Chairman
of Geodynamics. His wide ranging government and community
involvements include chairmanship of the Wesley Research Institute
and founding Chair of the International Riverfoundation.
Martin was made a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) for
service to the construction industry, export markets, the
engineering profession and the community and is a recipient of the
Centenary Medal. He has received the Australian Constructors
Association and QUT Distinguished Constructors Awards, Honorary
Doctorates from the University of Queensland, QUT University SA,
and is an Honorary Fellow of Engineers Australia.
