Kyl Murphy
State Director, QLD

Kyl is the State Director of CEDA's Queensland operations.

Kyl has held senior roles in state and federal government, academia and in the community sector. She brings expertise and substantial experience in policy, project and program leadership, business improvement, research, issue management and stakeholder engagement.

Before joining CEDA, Kyl was Communications Director for the Queensland Coordinator-General and the Department of Infrastructure and Planning, with responsibility across the major projects, infrastructure, planning and local government portfolios. She holds a Masters of International Business from Queensland University of Technology and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Kyl has previously served on the Board of the Australian Red Cross, Queensland Division.

As Founding Director of the Ideas Festival Kyl delivered the successful 2001, 2003 and 2006 festivals and commissioned the Ideas Book, a collection of 38 essays by national and international leading thinkers, for University of Queensland Press. As Director Service Access with Disability Services Queensland she was responsible for community and funding programs and for implementation of national policy and major capital works.

Building on this background and experience, Kyl is committed to growing CEDA's business in Queensland and to ensuring our members receive the full benefits of our research, policy, development and program work.
