Associate Director, Queensland

The Associate Director reports directly to the State Director and is responsible for developing and delivering the CEDA program of public and member events in Queensland. You will work strategically in a busy environment, securing sponsorship income, representing CEDA at senior levels, understanding the business needs and concerns of members and ensuring program targets are met.

THE ROLE

Program management

  • Identify event topics, content and speakers
  • Speaker invitations, briefings and management
  • Marketing and communications, event promotion and media liaison
  • Sponsorship proposals, negotiations, and the delivery of sponsor benefits
  • Event production
  • Financial forecasting and program budgeting
  • Maintain best practice event and sponsorship tools and practices

Stakeholder relations and business development

  • Maintain positive relations with CEDA stakeholders and across the business community
  • Work closely with members' business development managers
  • Identify and implement strategic business and audience development opportunities

To meet these responsibilities the successful candidate will need to:

Experience in program and events management, sponsorship and in stakeholder relations will be essential to this role. Qualifications in business, communications or related fields will be highly regarded. A keen interest in the public policy environment, business, current affairs, and the economic and social development of Australia will be expected.
