CEDA welcomes members and guests to this Women in Leadership Series event leading discussion around the benefits to organisations in having more women in senior management roles. CEDA is delighted to welcome Jane Caro, Catherine Fox and Professor Barbara Pocock back to the CEDA lectern for 2011.

    OVERVIEW

CEDA in partnership with nab is delighted to continue our highly successful women in leadership series with our first event in this series for 2011 focussing on high performing organisations. CEDA welcomes back Jane Caro from the Gruen Transfer, Catherine Fox from the AFR and Professor Barbara Pocock from the Centre for Work + Life to lead discussion around the loosely kept secret that organisations with more women in senior management and leadership roles perform better than their competitors.

While it is clear that companies whom actively promote the employment of women, by providing maternity leave, pay equity and a positive workplace culture, receive cultural benefits and access the full potential of the labour market, there is evidence emerging that these organisations also perform better in other key business measures.

Join CEDA as we discuss, debate and dissect this critical workforce development issue, which the AFR highlighted this week where women make up:

    • 2% of ASX 200 Chairmen
    • 2% of ASX 200 CEOs
    • 6% of ASX 200 Line Managers
    • 11% of ASC 200 Board Seats
    • 11% of ASX 200 executive managers
    • 46% of the labour force
    • 51% of professionals; and
    • >50% of university graduates

Yet the AFR reports that there still exists a significant pay inequality, where women earn less than 85% of what men earn.
