Post-Copenhagen series
Post-Copenhagen series

SERIES OVERVIEW
Climate policy is one of the world's most testing economic,
political and social challenges Australia faces. In the lead-up to
the UN Climate Change conference in Copenhagen, CEDA released an
extensive research report in August 2009 on the Australian and
international climate policy context followed by a number of
events. All discussions led to the UN Copenhagen Conference on 7
December 2009.
The Copenhagen Conference brought to light the shift in planned
outcomes and the uncertain role of developed and developing nations
since the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. It was evident that there are a
number of new and existing barriers will continue to prevent the
implementation of comprehensive treaty and international
framework.
In 2010, CEDA will continue to act as a conduit for discussion
and debate by hosting a number of forums around the nation to
address the outcomes of the UN Climate Change Conference in
Copenhagen. CEDA will bring together key experts and industry
leaders, government departments and businesses to discuss the
future of climate change policy.
The series provides the opportunity to be involved in the debate
and discussions on the next steps for Australia and the global
community in consolidating an efficient and effective climate
change policy.
