The word leadership is always hard to define. The corporate
world has demonstrated that there are many different individuals,
from different backgrounds, age groups and personalities that have
achieved acclaimed success as leaders in their respective fields.
Managing a business and an organisation today requires a variety of
leadership skills different from those used event five to ten years
ago. The rapidly changing marketplace, increased local and global
competition, leaner organisational structures and diverse employees
and clients, requires radically different skills and attitudes. As
part of the 2010 Copland Program, CEDA is proud to present the
session the many forms of leadership in the business world to
introduce two leaders what they see as the traits of highly
successful leaders and the qualities and skills you need to develop
to become a successful leader.

Demonstrated morality and integrity in business should be an
integral ingredient in the delivery of successful business outcomes
and an organisation's bottom line. It is a necessity in building
and maintaining an organisation's brand and reputation. Ethical
business practice should be a core value of the business world and
it requires strong leaders to implement and uphold high ethical
standards. This session will demonstrate the importance of
integrity and ethical principals in business relationships and will
provide participants with the opportunity to hear from and speak
with leaders who have experienced and addressed the breakdown of
ethical standards.
Emotional Intelligence - Differentiating people
performance
Friday, 12 November, 4.00pm - 7.00pm (including
Copland graduation)
Speakers to be confirmed
When you work with other people, your relationship
and how you interact with them from the beginning can really
matter. Using emotional intelligence in business is all about
getting the most out of these relationships in ways that benefit
both sides. Having strong emotional intelligence allows you to
respond appropriately to different situations, recognise other
people's emotions and promote personal and professional
development. Developing the skills required to work effectively
with your peers, your managers and your staff will help you build
stronger relationships that can only benefit your organisation. The
final session of the CEDA 2010 Copland Program once again hosts two
key industry leaders to discuss how to develop your own emotional
intelligence and how to promote it within your organisations.
