Health and ageing
Healthcare and ageing are important issues in Australia,
especially as currently health expenses account for 15.2 per cent
of the Commonwealth Budget, and is expected to rise to 29 per cent
by 2049-2050.
Reform of the healthcare sector is more important now than ever
before. At the same time that Australia's healthcare system will
experience greater calls on its resources than ever before, it will
be financed by a relatively dwindling population.
