As world population projected to grow towards 9 billion by the middle of the century, how can Australia contribute towards the growing energy needs of the Asia Pacific region? A recent CEDA event in Canberra on June 10 provided the opportunity to hear perspectives on these issues from an expert panel. The potential for nuclear power to be part of Australia's energy mix and Australians’ attitudes towards nuclear power were discussed at Perth event on 19 April 2010. The findings of the National Academies Forum (NAF) report on the way Australians develop attitudes towards nuclear power were presented by the lead author, Professor Daniela Stehlik.
