Val Raubenheimer


Val Raubenheimer is a member of CEDA's State Advisory Council in Western Australia.

Val has been with Curtin in various general management roles for 16 years, and is responsible for areas such as Marketing; Future Students; Public Relations, including strategic planning, media and events; corporate and recruitment Publications; External and Government Relations; the Digital Media Unit; Curtin FM community radio; the John Curtin Art Gallery; the Office of Advancement, the University’s philanthropy office; and most recently, the Professional Standards and Conduct Unit.  She has particular expertise in marketing, and crisis management and critical incident communications.

Prior to joining Curtin Val was state manager and director of the Perth office of an international public relations company, IPR Shandwick, for 12 years.  Clients at IPR Shandwick included major corporate clients across a range of industries, health and hospitals (she advised on the transition of Hollywood Hospital from a repatriation to a private hospital), and many minor resource companies floating on the stock exchange, amongst others.  

Prior to migrating to Australia in 1986 Val was a journalist on a major daily newspaper in South Africa.  Val has a Diploma in Journalism (S.A) and a B.Arts from UWA.  She is a graduate member of the AICD and holds memberships of various organisations such as PRIA and AIM.
