Christine Traquair


Christine Traquair is a member of CEDA's State Advisory Council in Queensland.

Christine Traquair is currently the Chief Risk Officer for Suncorp Bank, with responsibility for managing all aspects of risk across the Bank and is a key member of the Bank’s Executive Leadership team, as well as Suncorp Group Risk. Christine leads a team of 150 people responsible for identifying, assessing and managing risk in the Bank with an Enterprise Risk Management focus. Previously, Christine held the role of Head of Risk, Business Banking, Queensland with NAB, having spent many years with NAB in a variety of senior roles across Institutional, Business and Retail Banking, and Wealth, as well as roles in Global and Australian Credit.

Christine has over 30 years experience in finance with 4 different organisations, holding several senior management roles in front line sales and risk divisions in Australia and overseas.  Christine has deep knowledge of business and risk across a wide spectrum and brings a commercial and practical approach to resolving problems.

An important focus for Christine is leadership development and the coaching and mentoring of staff, particularly encouraging women in leadership. One of her previous roles as Head of Enterprise Risk Management involved working with Risk and Human Resources to develop a framework and training plan to embed risk capability throughout the organisation, and ensure it was a key consideration in business decisions. 

Christine has a number of qualifications including a Degree in Agricultural Science, a Masters in Applied Finance, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Previously a Director of a Not For Profit company involved in Disability employment, her previous and current roles continue to provide significant involvement with Committees and Boards.
