Event overview

Demand for services continues to increase, community expectations driven by pandemic have changed and opportunity now exists to increase the role of digital technology in service delivery, drive efficiency and safeguard the sustainability of critical services.

In advance of CEDA’s forthcoming report The Digitisation of Human Services, hear from those leading digitisation efforts, who understand how governments work and why change is important to our health, wellbeing and communities when they discuss:

  • The practical and pragmatic steps that governments could take to digitise services;
  • Those services that have already changed in light of COVID-19;
  • Long-term fiscal benefits of greater digitisation of service delivery;
  • The full range of services that would benefit from digitisation – health, mental health, disability, housing, income support and justice;
  • The public service capability and IT investment required to support digitisation;
  • The importance of equity and access - digital literacy, how to reduce Australia’s digital divide; and
  • Impediments to greater digital service delivery.
