This year’s Copland program will have a focus around leadership and the future of work, recognising that both the type of work and the skills required for these jobs in the future will continue to change and evolve at an exponential rate.

The program will provide emerging leaders with an opportunity to develop the leadership and management skills required in today’s rapidly changing economic and business environment.

We are pleased to announce that this year's session speakers include InDaily's 40 under 40 business leaders.

Key benefits

  • Gain new and fresh perspectives on business challenges.
  • Gain competitive advantage in your career and receive cutting edge knowledge.
  • Have access to a network of emerging professionals from the public, private and not-for profit sectors.
Who should participate

The Copland Leadership program is designed specifically for emerging leaders planning to take the next step in their careers, whether it is a general management position or a more specialised role.

Participants come from a broad range of sectors including corporate, business, government, peak bodies, academia and the not-for-profit sector.

CEDA encourages you to nominate yourself or an emerging leader in your team for the Copland Leadership Program as part of their professional development for 2019.

Meet the keynote speaker

Dr Tim Cooper AM
Managing Director, Coopers Brewery

Dr Tim Cooper AM is a fifth generation Cooper, with the unusual combination of qualifications in brewing and medicine. Tim completed medical studies (MBBS, Adelaide) in 1979 and practised hospital medicine for 7 years, working mainly in the UK as a registrar in medicine and cardiology. He decided to take time off medicine in 1986-87 to study brewing science (MSc, Birmingham), and was awarded the Sir William Waters Butler Award for top student.

He returned home to enter the family company in 1990, starting as Technical Manager, and becoming Operations Manager in 1993, responsible for brewing, packaging and engineering. He later completed his MBA and took on the responsibility as Project Director for the design and construction of the new brewery at Regency Park.

Tim is now Managing Director of Coopers Brewery, and sustains the workload of MD duties whilst still keeping a close eye on the brewing side of the business as Chief Brewer.
