EVENT OVERVIEW

Throughout 2011 CEDA will continue the popular Transport Series, comprising of four lunch events, to raise awareness of transport reform and restructuring.

Efficient transport systems enable improved distribution and workforce participation, increase fuel efficiency and connects consumers with business and public services.

Funding, strategic vision and political will are required to provide expansion, development and maintenance of transport infrastructure and services that a growing Australia requires. This, in turn, supports increasing transport demands and promotes the viability of regional economic hubs.

In the opening session for the series, CEDA is delighted to welcome to the platform the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, and Leader of the House of Representatives. The Minister will examine the national infrastructure challenges facing Australia and discuss the federal government's infrastructure policy to ensure efficient adoption and necessary investment.
