The population of NSW will increase by two million people to reach 9.2 million by 2031 (NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure, September 2013).

With Sydney contributing more than one fifth of Australia's GDP, policy planning and delivery needs to ensure Sydney's standing as a first choice destination for business investment, infrastructure development and provide enhanced connectivity for Sydneysiders and visitors.

To tackle the many questions posed by the demands of today's economy and business environment, CEDA is delighted to host a discussion with the NSW Minister for Planning and Infrastructure, business and thought leaders.

Speakers will address:

  • The nine key city shapers - projects to drive growth and integrated communities across greater Sydney;
  • Attracting and supporting investment into infrastructure for a growing city;
  • Responses to increased competition from the region and adapting to the high Australian dollar;
  • Governance reform for long-term economic benefits; and
  • The connected city - driving productivity gains and new industries.
