EVENT OVERVIEW

In Queensland, transport infrastructure is essential to economic growth and to sustainable development. The CEDA Transport Infrastructure series has investigated the evidence base for transport infrastructure investment, the forward priorities and challenges for Queensland and now looks at new approaches to meet high demand.

Dr Chris Hale from the University of Melbourne, Department of Infrastructure Engineering, is a transport strategist and urban economist. His national and international experience in public transport planning, and urban development has led him to question assumptions underpinning transport infrastructure investment, planning and management.

KDR Gold Coast, Managing Director, Vivienne King has strong views on aligning outcomes, need and expectation. Through her experience on major local and international transport projects and as Chair of the International Association of Public Transport, she has seen new transport solutions, investment strategies and the rigour of truly integrated transport planning.

Discussion will be moderated by Jude Munro whose work has shaped transport infrastructure, city planning and new approaches for transport planning to serve economic development.

The CEDA Transport Infrastructure series is sponsored by CEDA member HASSELL.
