The reforms are considered essential to our capacity to face rising demand and rising cost and deliver cost effective, quality healthcare. They call for, and are dependent on, a fundamental change in the relationship between private and public sector.

Releasing the Blueprint for better healthcare in Queensland Minister Springborg admitted Queensland, with a current health budget of $12 billion, lagged on the efficient provision of healthcare services. He said "getting value from every health dollar, encouraging collaboration and providing for future needs through investment, innovation and planning will return Queensland's healthcare system to lead the nation".

Now, six months on, the Minister will go into the detail on the reforms for CEDA members and guests and will take your questions. Why is the current health sector reform discussion, locally and nationally, different to those that went before?

This CEDA member event will provide insight into the full health sector reform agenda and a current update on the work of the Ministerial Health Infrastructure Council; public, private and not-for-profit sector partnerships; and the contestability agenda.

This is a CEDA member event, open to all staff of our member organisations and their guests. We encourage you to book early to secure your place.

This member event is kindly supported by CEDA members AECOM.
