Event overview

Dr French was appointed Australian Ambassador to Italy in 2016. He is also the Ambassador of Australia to Albania and San Marino and Ambassador-designate to Libya.

In addition to these roles Dr French is Australia's permanent representative to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Food Programme.

Dr Greg French
Australia's Ambassador to Italy, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Dr French is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He has previously served overseas as High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and as First Secretary in Bonn. Dr French holds Doctor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees from Műnster University, Germany, in addition to Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Macquarie University.
