OVERVIEW

Following the review of Tasmania's energy sector and the government's response, there are big changes on the horizon for the State's energy market. However, like any major market reform, there are issues of cost, implementation timelines and risk mitigation to consider.

This forum will provide a variety of perspectives on the reforms, including:

  • a review of what economic potential market reform might unlock for the state;
  • how consumers can maximise choice and benefit from the reforms; and
  • what the perspectives of the State's two largest energy producers will bring to the table.

The views of potential new entrants to the energy market will also be heard with the State Energy Minister, Bryan Green delivering the keynote lunchtime address.
