Queensland is in the right place, at the right time. The latest Deloitte Access Business Outlook presents Queensland as a magnet for massive business investment, with a record $184.5 billion in known projects for June quarter 2011. It predicts the Queensland economy will grow and exceed the Queensland Treasury's forecast of 5% by the end of this financial year. The Queensland government has aggressively supported infrastructure for investment, with a $15 billion capital program this year alone.

This is a unique opportunity for CEDA members and guests to hear from Queensland's leaders on matters critical to business and industry. This event will look at key economic drivers, how the multispeed economy will be managed, and where investment opportunities lay. This event will provide up-to-date information, from the big picture to the detail, for business leaders who are doing, growing or looking for business in Queensland.

This CEDA event is presented with the support of Trade & Investment Queensland.

The Hon Anna Bligh
Premier and Minister for Reconstruction, Queensland Government

Anna Bligh has been Premier of Queensland since 13 September 2007. She made history on 21 March 2009 when she became the first popularly-elected female Premier in Australia.

On 21 February 2011, Ms Bligh took on the role of Minister for Reconstruction to personally oversee the rebuilding of Queensland in the wake of unprecedented natural disasters in late 2010 and early 2011.

The Hon Andrew Fraser
Treasurer and Minister for State Development and Trade, Queensland Government

When Mr Fraser was appointed Queensland Treasurer in 2007 he was the youngest since 1915; he's is now Australia's longest serving Treasurer. After implementing Queensland's successful fiscal consolidation program, earlier this year he was given additional responsibilities for overseeing the state's major infrastructure projects and export development opportunities as Minister for State Development and Trade.
