EVENT OVERVIEW
With the introduction of credit card readers on phones making payments for goods and services easier than ever, are we moving further towards a cashless society?
By 2016, it is predicted that 2.5 billion consumers will purchase $170 billion worth of goods using mobile commerce (m-commerce) technology. M-commerce allows payments to be made by referencing a phone number, email or social network profile via the wave of a phone.
As a country which has the highest penetration of smartphones in the world, m-commerce has the potential to rapidly grow within Australia.
With concerns about security and the limited number of smartphones with Near Field Communication (NFC), where are Australia's commerce technologies heading?
Will new technologies threaten the dominance that banks have experienced in the past?
Join CEDA as experts talk about new technologies, m-commerce and what Australia can expect in the future.
