Event overview
Victoria's transportation network is a complex web of trams, trains, buses and roads, and remains a central factor in the state's liveability and economic prosperity. With patronage on the rise, transport operators need to respond flexibly with a system that can meet the changing preferences of users.
Presenting a panel discussion with the heads of some of Victoria's key transport modes and a keynote lunch address by Department Secretary, Dean Yates, the first of CEDA's 2013 Victorian Transport series will:
- Review the trends and projections for commuting patterns in the state;
- Discuss how to deliver better outcomes from Victoria's transport assets through innovation;
- Present ideas and discussion on how better integration can be achieved across trams, trains and the road network;
- Identify key challenges and investment priorities; and
- Establish the priorities and challenges for public transport in Victoria in the year ahead.
