Event overview
Treasury predictions that agriculture will grow to comprise five per cent of GDP by 2050 means the sector will surpass manufacturing as a cornerstone of the national economy. Identified as a 'second wave' response to the economic growth in Asia, meeting the increasing demand for high-end Australian agricultural produce will depend on increasing farm productivity and building a solid pool of investment funds to leverage opportunities.
However, without managing foreign investment dimensions, growing the local investment appetite and a strong commitment from government, the sector may fall short and be unable to fully maximise the growth potential in Asia.
Join CEDA as we look at the investment landscape in Australian agriculture, sectoral productivity and efficiency and growing R&D opportunities.
