What are the pillars of a successful employment and innovation cluster? How do we enhance the development of these vital precincts?

The new Minister for Priority Precincts, the Hon. Gavin Jennings will give an opening keynote address, sharing the high-level priorities and vision for new and emerging employment precincts.

Joining the panel discussion are Fishermans Bend Development Board Chair, Meredith Sussex AM;  La Trobe University Vice-President (Development) Natalie MacDonald; and AECOM’s Director of Cities, Tim O’Loan as we unpack the key learnings, policy frameworks and future scenarios for precinct development in Melbourne.

The Hon. Gavin Jennings MLC
Special Minister of State, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Minister for Priority Precincts

Gavin Jennings has been a Member of Parliament in Victoria (Australia) since September 1999. As Minister for Priority Precincts he will work within government to maximise community value from large scale urban development opportunities.

David Brown
Head of Strategic Consulting - VIC, JLL

David  leads JLL’s Strategic Consulting service and is very well credentialed with an excellent track record of success across various consulting roles and a strong network of client and industry relationships. He has more than 15 years experience spanning across Lendlease,  MacoPlan Dimasi and most recently as General Manager New Business at Development Vcitoria.

Natalie MacDonald
Vice-President (Development), La Trobe University

Ms MacDonald has extensive experience in leading the delivery of corporate services, information services, building and design, accommodation, maintenance, facilities management and procurement services and the delivery of government services across wide geographical areas. She has served on a number of Commonwealth and State bodies and not-for-profit, superannuation and research boards.

Meredith Sussex AM
Chair, Fishermans Bend Development Board

Meredith Sussex AM is an expert on city planning and chair of the Fishermans Bend Development Board. She is commitment to community engagement in the development and implementation of public policy.

Tim O'Loan
Director of Cities, Australia & New Zealand, AECOM

Tim leads AECOM's Cities program across Australia and New Zealand, whcih seeks to unlock critical urban infrastructure opportunities within the city. Through the application of independent research, Tim is passionate about driving broad, integrated strategies that tap hidden value, attract people and investment, and overcome financial and operational challenges for the benefit of the community. Tim has worked on significant national and international integrated developments and masterplanning projects in Australia, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
