EVENT OVERVIEW

Western Australia's resources sector is the economic powerhouse of the country. The mining sector generates 10 per cent of Australia's GDP, and the mining-related economy represents a further nine per cent of GDP. Yet, even in this strong industry there is a need to improve technologies and efficiencies in order to increase productivity.

Australia's resources are finite and the high-quality and easy-to-access deposits have long since been exploited. Resource companies are increasingly being forced to look towards lower-grade or harder to reach deposits, to continue to meet demand. New technologies must be developed to ensure that the removal of these alternative deposits is efficient, cost effective and environmentally sound.

Join CEDA for the second part of our Improving Productivity Through Innovation series, entitled Innovation in Resources, as we explore some of these innovations.

A panel of senior industry experts will discuss the new technologies that will drive their companies, and the wider resources industry, forward into the future.
