EVENT OVERVIEW

Western Australia's dominant oil and gas and mining sectors have been a key economic driver for Australia in recent years and will be for many decades to follow. Inevitably, such growth and expansion comes with the fiscal challenge to maintain and increase the State's infrastructure.

The isolated locations of most of WA's major resource projects have influenced the provision of essential services. A report by the Minerals Council of Australia found shortcomings in key areas including ports, rail, airports, community and family support infrastructure, water, electricity and telecommunications.

Whilst a number of companies have developed their own infrastructure, has this improved the situation or led to poor economies of scale?

Can industry and government work together to close the infrastructure gap and ensure essential services are adequately met?

Can efficiencies in current infrastructure be improved to build capacity?

Join CEDA as we dissect infrastructure needs and what is required to meet future demands.
