Ma Zhaoxu, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Commonwealth of Australia

Event overview

Under the new leadership of President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang, otherwise known as the Xi/Li Administration, China is embarking on a process of sweeping political, social and economic reform. After a decade of conservative leadership, President Xi has convened the Central Leading Group for Overall Reform to drive a broad reform agenda that extends to political construction, democracy and justice and the environment.

Ambassador Ma will deliver his insights on the following questions and more during this special address.

  • How will the new leadership regime impact the direction of China and its economy?
  • Is there likely to be any change in the trade relationship with Australia, and if so, how?
  • How can Australia maximise its diplomatic and business relationships with China?
  • Will we finally see the long-running Free Trade Agreement negotiations between Australia and China come to fruition?
