WA
Sep 14
As Cancer Council WA celebrates its 60th year, CEDA welcomes Chief Executive Officer, Ashley Reid for a discussion with Trustees on the broader social and economic impacts of cancer.

Speakers

Ashley Reid, Chief Executive Officer, Cancer Council WA

Event overview

In WA alone, there are almost 12,000 new cases of cancer diagnosed each year, joining in excess of 87,000 West Australians currently living with cancer.

The social cost of cancer is enormous, with one in two Australians diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime meaning everyone is affected is some way. Cancer Council WA has for 60 years continued to fight all variations in cancer to prevent, support and hopefully defeat cancer.

Ashley Reid joined Cancer Council WA as Chief Executive Officer in 2017 and has continued the organisation’s focus on research, evidence-based support services and advocacy.  Ashley will share with CEDA Trustees his insights into the social and economic implications of cancer.

This briefing is by invitation only to CEDA Trustees. Trustees are senior leaders nominated by CEDA member organisations. At CEDA boardroom briefings Trustees hear from an informed, expert guest speaker in a private, small group setting. Invitations to boardroom briefings are a valued benefit of CEDA membership.
