Event overview

The business case for gender equality is well established, with gender balance linked to better organisational culture and performance. Yet women's representation within Australia's corporate leadership ranks remains low, with data showing that only 16 per cent of CEOs and one in four key management personnel are women.

A joint research project by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, Business Council of Australia and McKinsey & Company has identified the common practices of those Australian organisations making the most progress in boosting women's representation in senior leadership roles. This event will explore:

  • Key findings from the WGEA's 2016-17 data set examining the gender pay gap and employer action;
  • New research into drivers of improved outcomes for women in leadership; and
  • Employer initiatives that are most effective at supporting women's progress at work.
