Tackling Australia’s housing crisis | Minister Julie Collins

“Through the National Housing Accord we’re setting ambitious housing supply targets. This is the first time all jurisdictions have agreed to ambitious national housing targets since the post war reconstruction in 1945.”

With rising interest rates and the cost-of-living crisis contributing to housing and rental availability and affordability, Federal Minister for Housing, Julie Collins, took to CEDA’s stage to provide an update on Australia’s housing sector.

The Minister discussed the Housing Accord, the Housing Future Fund, and the Government's strategies for addressing these multifaceted issues and providing assistance to individuals at risk of homelessness. The Q&A session towards the end of the event, facilitated by Global Lead Partner Infrastructure and Capital Projects, Deloitte, Luke Houghton, gave CEDA members and stakeholders an opportunity to put their questions forward to the Minister.
