Building a healthier economy: the challenges and future of healthcare in Queensland

The Hon. Shannon Fentiman, Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services and Minister for Women, addressed CEDA's Brisbane audience, where she discussed the Queensland Government's plan to create a better healthcare system, grow jobs across the state and foster a healthier economy for all Queenslanders.

In her address, the Minister announced new youth recruitment initiative, #GoHealth, which will promote careers in the public health sector to Queenslanders aged 15-18 and their parents. With Queensland Health likely to need approximately 40,000 additional staff over the next ten years, this project aims to grow the sector for the State's future job and healthcare prosperity.
