Economic and Political Outlook 2021
Check out CEDA's new report featuring insights from economists and political commentators on the year ahead.
CEDA’s partnerships and collaborations deliver targeted campaigns on key issues to build consensus on practical policy solutions. By bringing together a range of voices with diverse perspectives and expertise we can achieve greater impact.
Australia is facing many long standing ‘wicked’ problems, as well as complex emerging issues. Solutions are unlikely to be developed in isolation or by one sector. CEDA - with its broad cross-sector members and firm reputation for independence - is uniquely positioned to facilitate and drive impactful partnerships and collaborations.
Through our partnerships and collaborations CEDA draws on existing knowledge and expertise and works with organisations, academic institutions and individual experts in a variety of formats to overcome barriers to policy change.
In 2021, CEDA's work in this space is focused on:
Working together we achieve greater impact on important issues than we would otherwise be able to achieve individually.

CEDA’s Public Interest Technology program focuses on how emerging technologies can be designed, developed and used in the public interest.
How we advance and adopt technology and the use of data will fundamentally shape Australia’s economic and social development. Data and emerging technologies, used wisely and in the public interest, have the potential to deliver significant benefits.
Through this program of work CEDA brings together technologists, policy makers and business to further development, take-up and use of technology and data in a way that enables a dynamic economy and maximises individual and community choice, opportunity and wellbeing. This complements and supports work being undertaken as part of CEDA's 2021 research and policy agenda.
Following the inaugural CEDA PIT forum held in 2020, CEDA is looking to lead a national discussion in 2021 on what public interest technology means in practice and how to embed this approach to emerging tech.
Drawing on insights from the forum, our priorities include: building awareness of the importance of digital ethics and ethics in practice, regulation and regulatory frameworks for emerging tech, demystifying tech, building tech and public interest awareness and capability.
Foundation Partners
CEDA would like to thank Google, IBM and KPMG who have come on board as PIT Foundation Partners to help facilitate, guide and drive CEDA’s program of work.
PIT Member Advisory Committee
