CEDA events take place around Australia on the policy opportunities and challenges facing local, regional and national development. CEDA events provide an opportunity to be informed, to engage and to discuss the economic development of Australia. That’s why CEDA has almost 35,000 event attendances annually.
From the Prime Minister and Opposition Leader, State Premiers, CEOs of the ASX Top 200 to leading academics, CEDA events deliver top speakers looking at the critical issues for business at almost 200 public events annually.
CEDA members have exclusive access to multimedia materials from past public events including speeches, panel discussions and presentations.
Trustee only boardroom briefings
CEDA delivers exclusive CEDA Trustee only boardroom briefings across Australia throughout the year.
A valued membership benefit, these briefings provide a unique opportunity for peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and for speakers and attendees to talk candidly about key policy issues. Chatham House Rule applies at these events.
CEDA runs more than 100 invitation-only boardroom briefings throughout the year for CEDA Trustees. Trustees are senior executives from member organisations.
Member only events
CEDA hosts a range of special member only events each year across Australia where registration is available exclusively for CEDA members and their guests.

Flagship and signature annual eventsEPO
Running for more than 30 years, CEDA’s annual Economic and Political Overview (EPO) events are held in each capital city in February and March to coincide with the release of CEDA’s annual EPO publication. The events and publication provide analysis to inform on the economic and political environment which we will be operating in for the year ahead.
Sir Douglas Copland Lecture
Sir Douglas Copland’s legacy of international cooperation is acknowledged through CEDA’s Sir Douglas Copland Lecture. Held annually, it delivers a high calibre international speaker.
State of the Nation
Running for over 30 years, CEDA has hosted the annual State of the Nation in Canberra in June. This two day forum delivers briefings and discussions with senior government ministers and shadow ministers, public servants and leading business commentators.
CEDA's Annual Dinner is an end-of-year celebration that features an address by a prominent Australia leader. Each November, CEDA hosts its Annual Dinner with a biennial keynote address by the Reserve Bank of Australia Governor.
State of the State
Each year on the CEDA stage, State of the State events are held around the country, providing an opportunity for the Premiers in each state to outline their forward agenda and vision.
As part of CEDA's event program, CEDA runs a diverse range of event series that focus on national and state issues including transport and infrastructure, energy and resources, regional development and women in leadership.
The Copland Leadership program, offered by CEDA in conjunction with leading education and management institutions, provides a challenging development environment for emerging leaders from business, academia, community and government sectors.
CEDA is a member of an international network of independent, business-based public policy organisations. Each year the network holds an annual international conference with the host country rotated between network members.
