Australia has a strong hand. Are we playing it well?
CEDA’s Accelerating Energy Investments QLD brought together energy leaders, investors and policymakers to examine what it will take to unlock Queensland’s next wave of generation, firming, storage and transmission projects.
Professor Paul Simshauser AM, Chief Executive Officer of Iberdrola Australia, delivered a keynote address on Queensland’s energy market outlook, followed by a panel discussion exploring investment signals, capital mobilisation, grid access, planning and approvals, and the conditions needed to move projects towards construction and financial close.
The discussion also considered how Queensland can build community support, align energy investment with regional development and local jobs, and ensure storage, firming and transmission are delivered alongside new renewable and traditional generation.
