Unique opportunity to set up CEDA’s philanthropy proposition 

CEDA’s influence is growing, and we are looking to actively shape Australia’s long term economic and social prosperity with our Progress2050 vision.  If you are experienced in major gift acquisition, we are seeking your expertise to build and implement our first philanthropic proposition with the CEO and the CEDA Board.   

The purpose of this role is to build a long-term philanthropic funding stream for CEDA.  This will require building the proposition, campaign planning, identification of potential donors, stakeholder management through to funding acquisition, and establishment of governance and reporting processes.   

If you are passionate about public policy and long-term sustainability, you’ll love this role.  Skills and experience required: 

• A proven track record in acquiring funding from major philanthropic trusts and foundations.  
• Solid understanding of major funders, priorities and preferred ways of working. 
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, and ability to build productive relationships.  
• Broad understanding of the Australian public policy landscape and avenues of influence. 
• Ability to synthesise complex problems and long-term solutions into a compelling philanthropic proposition. 
• Best practice corporate governance practices related to funding.

An exciting opportunity awaits for a dynamic and self-driven Event Manager who can manage and deliver innovative, high-quality face to face, hybrid and digital events on a permanent ongoing basis. As part of our state-based team in the Brisbane office, the Events Manager will be working with a nationally diverse Programming team in delivering end to end events logistics and managing ad hoc day to day office operations.

To be successful in this role, you must love collaboration and have a proven track record in successful implementation of events across a variety of formats (face to face, hybrid, digital). Your ability to build relationships and engage with Senior Executives and key stakeholders will be critical. 

Reporting to the Associate Director, Content Programming, your day-to-day activities will include:

• Supporting and administering face to face and digital event planning, marketing and pre, during and post event delivery (i.e. speaker liaison, venue booking, AV, supplier coordination, onsite set up and registration, on the day staff supervision, livestream tech rehearsals etc.).
• Building, publishing and marketing events as per programming and marketing deadlines using the CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) and CMS.
• Supporting sponsor relationships by managing deliverables according to contract arrangements for events.
• Participating in virtual roundtables and providing support to speaker, host and attendees.
• Preparing event materials, and administration including event budgets and reporting.
• Providing daily customer service contact and response to enquiries around events as well as wider CEDA activities, including regularly managing the events inbox as part of an all-team schedule.
• Ad hoc office management activities to deliver effective daily operation (i.e. ordering /receiving office provisions, WHS requirements and engagement with building management and external suppliers).

You’ll love this role if you are:

• A self-starter with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
• Have experience and confidence in engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Have demonstrated high level accuracy, efficiency and organisational skills, combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Are an experienced CRM/CMS user and highly proficient in MS office.
• Have a keen interest in current and emerging public policy issues.
• A critical thinker, passionate about innovation and have commercial awareness.
• Have at least 2+ years’ experience in event management and coordination.
• Have the ability to work as part of a multifunctional, multidisciplinary national team, valuing collegiate team effort and alignment to CEDA values.
