Federal Minister for the Status of Women, Julie Collins has launched the Government's latest gender balance report at a CEDA event in Melbourne on 15 November 2012.
The report, Gender Balance on Australian Government Boards Report 2011-2012, shows women on Government boards increased by 3.1 per cent to 38.4 per cent, as at June this year.
"The results of this year's report show the Australian Government is making strong progress towards reaching our target of 40 per cent representation by 2015," Ms Collins said.
The greatest reason inequality between men and women exists in the workplace is due to unconscious bias and discrimination, Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Director, Libby Lyons has told a CEDA audience in Tasmania.
