"This is what drives me, personally and our government, to boost housing supply...but critically social and affordable housing, because ultimately, it's not about economic figures, it's actually about people."
With Western Australia facing a housing crisis, CEDA's Perth audience recently heard from WA Minister for Planning and Lands; Housing and Works, the Hon. John Carey, who shared an update on future plans for improving housing affordability and supply for the State.
He was then joined on stage by an industry panel, who discussed strategies to increase housing supply, planning system reform, demographic trends, affordable housing and more.
Speakers included:
- Malcolm Smith Fellow in Masterplanning and Urban Design, and the Australasian Cities Leader, Arup
- Kath Snell, Chief Executive Officer, Shelter WA
- Dean O'Rourke, Executive General Manager of Residential WA, ABN Group
- Mark Tomasz, Chief Executive Officer, Keystart
- Danika Adams, Senior Economist, CEDA
- Jason Chan Managing Director, Bankwest
