AI is already an important contributor to daily human life. Advancements in machine learning and facial and language recognition have brought AI into our healthcare and education systems, homes and how Australia delivers essential services such as justice, humanitarian aid and national security.  

While policymakers and industry have a collective responsibility to adopt new technologies to serve a greater good, we must challenge and govern for ethical, transparent and reliable outcomes that positively impact society and prevent erosion in public trust and confidence.
