About the Role:
As the Associate Director of Programming, you'll lead a small team of Producers and Event Managers to drive and deliver strategic events (from multi-day high-profile summits to Chatham House CEO roundtables). Your portfolio will address Productivity and Skills & Workforce, two of the key areas of long-term public policy we believe Australia needs to get right to ensure long term economic and social prosperity. Under these areas, your work will include specific topics such as AI, Cities and Migration. This position offers a unique blend of strategic content planning, commercial objectives, innovative event delivery, marketing and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and executing the program for your portfolio – what are the key discussions we need to convene in this space; who must we hear from; how can we bring divergent views and respectful debate to key issues?
Identifying and securing sponsors to support your planned work
Working with the marketing team to appropriately market and promote your work to ensure ticket sales targets are met
Collaborating across the organization to ensure that your program is appropriately connected to work being undertaken by other teams, including Research and Membership, as well as other Programming teams.
Developing and delivering against budgets
Leading and developing your team
Public speaking – hosting public and private events
Collaborating internally and with external stakeholders to ensure delivery of compelling programs
Delivering key performance metrics for member and public event attendance/engagement and reporting.
As the ideal candidate, you will have:
Proven track record in journalism, content marketing, policy development or event programming
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to think strategically and problem-solve
Proven experience in stakeholder management and networking at the most senior level
Keen interest in current and emerging public policy issues
Outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills
High-level competencies in Microsoft Office Suite and data driven decision making
